Our Practice

Our practice emphasizes civil litigation before federal and state courts, with a focus on the defense of financial service clients, creditors, corporations, and public entities. We also defend the integrity of products or persons, with many of our cases litigated through trial and the appellate process. Our experienced trial and appellate lawyers have successfully defended major protracted jury trials in many parts of the country, and are equipped to handle cases involving complex legal issues and novel legal theories.

Practice Areas

• Financial Services: We represent banks and other lenders, debt buyers, debt servicers, debt collectors, and debt insurers in cases that allege violations of federal and state consumer-protection laws.
• Education: We have represented the Los Angeles Community College District, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and various private schools and universities, as well as their administrators, teachers, and staff, for nearly two decades.
• Products Liability: Our products liability work has defended claims that medicines or chemicals caused cancer or birth defects. We have represented manufacturers of automobile and truck components, medical devices, sporting goods, and tires.

• David J. Kaminski, who focuses on the defense of banks, creditors, and collection agencies under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"), and all other state and federal consumer protection statutes.
• J. Grace Felipe, Martin Schannong, Jeanne L. Zimmer, Calvin W. Davis, Mackenzie C. Gonzales, and Jeffery J. Carlson, who have all spent their formative years at large trial law firms, allowing them to approach each case with a similar level of analytical acumen.
